Why You Can't Separate Politics From Business

Why You Can't Separate Politics From Business From tariffs to tax incentives, how politics shape your job, your prices, and your investments. By Judy Fay London I often see people on certain platforms say, "This is a platform for business, not for politics." Whenever I see this, I think, "Well, this person doesn't realize that politics has a huge impact on business, markets, jobs, and the stock market." So my point is this: understanding politics matters, and it matters a lot, because political decisions shape the economic environment in which individuals, businesses, investors, and entire countries operate. Imagine waking up to discover that your daily commute costs twice as much, your savings account buys less, or your industry is suddenly hiring by the thousands. That’s right, politics affects our daily economic lives. How Politics Affects Markets Markets are closely connected to political decisions and hate uncertainty. Th...

Listen or Fall

Listen or Fall by Judy Fay London My friends, if you've read the book about my life, you know I ran two companies before I became seriously ill in 2018. After about two years of treatment, I made a full recovery, and I'm healthy today. So as a former entrepreneur, I know that companies rarely die from a single mistake. What happens when someone points out a problem the leader doesn't want to hear? That's when you learn a lot about a leader. Human beings naturally a...

When Loyalty Matters More Than Friendship:What the friends I lost taught me about the way dictators rise

When Loyalty Matters More Than Friendship What the friends I lost taught me about the way dictators rise By Judy Fay London A few years ago, I would have told you that friends can disagree about anything and stay friends. Movies, sports, lifestyle choices, or how to spend a Sunday—none of it should matter. But then politics got in the way. Some people I once considered close friends are no longer in my life. Some blocked me. With others, I was the one who stepped away. Yet, the result was the same. We stopped talking with each other since we ended our friendships because of our different political opinions. Was it hurt? The answer is yes. But what hurt most wasn't the disagreement itself. It was losing the ability to talk honestly without anger, suspicion, or the feeling of being personally attacked. I kept coming back to one question: why do some people defend a political leader more fiercely than they defend their friendships? Why I ...
