Judy’s Poems XVII

Cold Realities, Unbroken Love

Written by Judy Fay London

Judy's Poems speak directly to life, democracy, freedom, and human rights. They are poems about equality, love, and the human experience.

The world outside can be a cold, crowded, and heavily manipulated place. When reality is cold, art cannot pretend to be bright. I write these poems because we must face the problems of this world bravely before we can figure out the solutions.

A part of this poetry book:

Be afraid!

Kneel and obey!

Dictatorships only want

obedient animals—

oh, not animals, obedient people.

Be afraid!

Shut up and obey!

Dictatorships only want

you to hear one voice.

One Voice Only.

Be afraid!

Go home and obey!

Dictatorships only want

brainless people who don’t question,

who don’t resist;

who don’t fight.

Obey, be jailed, or be killed.

Be afraid!

Obey!
